Draft of the Revised Parish Mission Statement
We NEED Your Input ! 
The strategic planning group has began work on preparing a strategic plan for the parish. As part of that process the mission statement of St. Sebastian Church is being  re-examined. It’s purpose is to briefly identify what the overall purpose of our Parish is. What is the “business” we are in.
The mission statement is different from the “vision” statement, which defines where we want to be as we move into the future. Later the “values” statement will be developed to identify the core priorities of our Church.


 The current draft mission statement reads :
“The mission of St. Sebastian Catholic Church is to grow as a faith-based community being nourished by the Word of God and the Sacraments, as we reach out in service with love and compassion”

“The Second Vatican Council was the most important event in the life of the Catholic Church in the 20th century. The Council has also had a powerful impact on the human family throughout the world. How then can we become more familiar with the council? The most helpful way, of course is to read the conciliar documents themselves.”

This course will aid the student in understanding the history and the process of Vatican II and how to apply the documents to our Church today.
