GENERATIONS OF FAITH

As families get ready for “Back to school”… don’t forget that it is just as important   to prepare and register for Faith Formation!  Faith Formation has traditionally focused on children and youth, however, we all desire to grow in our spiritual life.

Faith Formation has traditionally been focused on children and youth, often bypassing parents and the rest of the Faith Community. We all need to seek life-long learning in every area of life,

especially in the area of FAITH!
 

Here at St Sebastian we are working to provide EVERY member the opportunity to participate in lifelong faith formation!

As adults our call is to be empowered to share our faith with our children, youth and each other. An opportunity to register for “Generations of  Faith” series is beginning NOW! Whether you are single, single again, a couple or a family we encourage you to participate in our monthly gatherings.

Generations of Faith is a program designed for everyone whether you are single, single again, a couple or a family we encourage you to participate in our monthly gatherings.

Families who have traditionally participated in “religious education” are expected to participate in this program.  Please stop by the Faith Formation office to pick up forms or call Sister Susan or Debbie Bova at 589-4140 for more information.  We look forward to a great program with great people… YOU!!

Registration for Sacraments - - - If you  are anticipating  your child receiving First Reconciliation, Eucharist or Confirmation please pick up registration packets from  the Faith Formation Office. Preparation for the reception of these sacraments is a two year process in our Diocese and your child needs to be registered each year of the process.  We begin in grade 1 for First Reconciliation/Eucharist and Grade 8 for Confirmation.  These programs are in addition to Generations of Faith!  Please stop by the Faith Formation office during the week.  Registration must be completed by August 31st to participate in this year’s prep programs.  We look forward to working with you and your child as they prepare for these special sacraments!

Children’s Liturgy of the Word - We are gearing up to begin C.L.O.W. early September.  This ministry is offered during the 9:30 Liturgy and is for children ages 3 -7.  Please note the new ages for this ministry !!  The children join the catechist to hear the Gospel on their own level and discover how God is alive through these  lessons !  All children ages 3 -7  are invited to participate.  Our main catechist; Kathy Sivak has so generously shared her time, talent and enthusiasm with our little people !  We are looking to expand this ministry to include more catechists so as to be able to rotate  scheduling and not rely totally on Kathy’s generosity.  In order to offer this ministry, we need to follow the Diocesan guidelines and have two adults present with this age level.  IF you like little people… this ministry is for you !!  Please contact the Faith Formation office if you can help us out.  Remember… this is for Our children… and they need You!
